Good to know

Are SHADE paints water-based?

Yes! All Shade paints are 100% water-based. This makes them a considered choice for refreshing your walls, furniture and other surfaces, without compromising on beautiful colour or quality.

What are VOCs, and why do they matter?

VOCs (volatile organic compounds) are substances that can be released into the air by certain products, including paint. Some VOCs can affect indoor air quality.
Our manufacturer has been working to reduce VOC levels since 2004, and our paints are developed to meet the applicable European standards.

Where is SHADE paint manufactured?

Our paints are proudly made in Belgium, in a factory powered by renewable electricity and equipped with 300 solar panels.
We also work with Belgian suppliers and European raw materials wherever possible, helping to reduce transport distances and the associated environmental impact.

Can SHADE paint cans be recycled?

Yes! Our paint cans are designed to be recyclable and carry the Made for Recycling certification.
Once your painting project is finished, make sure to follow your local recycling guidelines. Any leftover paint should be disposed of through the appropriate collection point rather than poured down the drain.

How can I make my painted surfaces last longer?

A little care goes a long way! To keep your painted surfaces looking beautiful, clean them gently with a soft cloth and avoid harsh or abrasive cleaning products.
Choosing the right paint for each surface and preparing it properly before painting will also help you enjoy the result for years to come.

What makes SHADE a more conscious choice?

Sustainability is considered throughout our process, from energy-efficient production and responsible sourcing to water management and recyclable packaging. We continuously invest in improvements to create beautiful colours with a more considered approach to the environment.
